With regards to the coronavirus, a note about future club events.

We hope that this note finds you, your family and friends in good health.

Your Executive Committee have been discussing ongoing and future club events and we wish to provide an update on where we see things going with meetings, rides and other events.

The April club meeting (scheduled for April 19) has been cancelled.

A meeting in May has not been scheduled.  Most likely, we will not be having a meeting, but if that changes, it will be announced in an email and on our Website and Facebook page.

Assistant Road Captain, Stu Greene’s weekly (typically Wednesday) rides will continue.  A meeting location will be designated (may still be outside of MAX BMW or elsewhere) to start the ride.  For lunch, we will stop at a picnic area along the route, so each participant is asked to pack a lunch and drink.

Road Captain, Mark Altschwager, will also continue to lead day rides as he has in the past and he will be following the same protocol as Stu, i.e., bring a lunch and drink to enjoy at a picnic area along the route.
The May ride to Lexington, VA is questionable.  We are concerned that, even if the coronavirus epidemic has passed, there may still be health concerns for travelers and hotels and restaurants will be trying to recover.  Watch for emails regarding this event as we get closer to the date.

Even the Charter Oak Rally may have to be cancelled.  Currently, we are looking for a way to accept preregistrations without collecting money.  If we decide to hold the rally, we will implement the normal registration process so people can sign up and we will notify those that have preregistered.  Watch for more details as we sort things out.

We will continue to monitor the CDC recommendations as well as all national and state mandates when reviewing our club’s activities.  Watch for emails as we move forward during these trying times.Stay safe and healthy with hopes of our world quickly returning to a more normal lifestyle.
