Twentieth Annual

Charter Oak Rally

May 26-29, 2006

After a good day on Friday, some rain moved in during the late afternoon.

In the Lodge, chili was being served.

Larry and Harriet dished out the chili.

Hey, what do you think about the chili?

Jim sliced the bread.

We know ralliers like our chili, so we make plenty.

Saturday morning found things misty and overcast.

While the line was short, Jim was cooking omelets to order for breakfast.

Kenny was adding home fries and bacon to each plate.

Ed was keeping the omelet fixings supplied.

As the day progressed, the weather became sunny and hot. Working registration, Art, Amber, Harriet and Linda filled in the time with dice games . . . but what's all that money doing on the table?

While in the kitchen, Bob (Bobble) was getting the beef ready to be cooked.

Bob H. was helping with the preparations.

Outside, the weather was nice and tents kept being set up all day.

The great food smells coming from the kitchen were getting everyone hungry. Hungry ralliers began lining up for dinner 25 minutes before serving was scheduled to begin at 5:30.

Plates were getting a big slab of beef.

Next Linda added the green beans.

Then Maria fit a large, baked potato on each plate.

Finally, you still had bread, rolls and salads to choose.

Vern and everyone kept things going in the kitchen.

Rally Chairman Brian, finally got to sit down for a while.

Paul grabbed dinner before heading to the dishwasher.

While Rick and John were seen in their usual spots.

The dinner line moved quickly.

Then, chocolate cake came out for dessert.

New and old friends shared dinner together.

Matt added a touch of class by wearing his tux.

Fred offered his help at Registration.

After dinner, outside on the benches was a good socializing area.

Who doesn't enjoy looking at and talking about bikes.

Then, the scooter riders arrived from New York.

The deck was a cool area after dinner.

Sunday and Monday continued the great weekend
